Hi,

I'am new to HCE framework, i'm planning to develop hospital management software but after going through the HCE i found that framework requires biztalk server for connected system to work so is't mandatory that biztalk need to be installed for developing the system.

    I think the developer should provide their message schema by self .
    i did it in this way:

    1: create your xml ,and generate the xsd file .
    2: add the xsd to ServiceRegistryProviderWS\schema\XXXX folder . and you maybe want to add it to your CustomerAdapterWSXXX\schema folder ,that 's OK ,too
    3: add a new message type in serviceproviderregister  DB for your new xsd

    new message type DONE : )

The default PRMessageHandlers.xml file supports message types 9005-9013. The Architecture and Design guide states that additional message types are supported (Appendix 3), i.e. Patient Referral (ID 1 - EMR.xsd), Labratories Order Data (ID2 - EMR.xsd), Patient Record Summary (ID7 - EMR.xsd),Patient Record Request (ID 7 - EMRRequest.xsd), etc.

How can these types be provided? Is this up to the developer to create the necessary schemas and then modify the message type values in the .xml file? Is there guidance on this or do pre-defined schemas for these message types exist somewhere?

I am trying to install HCE and am at the step of installing the Service Provider Register. Following the Deployment guide, I launch the installation file and accept the defaults but the installation fails with the error: "The system cannot find the specified path" on both the install and the rollback.

The application event (install) error log is as follows:

Is anyone aware of a service for mapping RxNorm to other drug databases like First Databank or VA lists?

At least one of the commercial vendors for XDS registries offers this part of their solution, which is very attractive - but it would be more attractive to have an open source XDS supported by a neutral vendor (at least in healthcare). But this would be one problem we would have to solve if we go open source.

I talked about the Test project in a previous discussion. This project is only a Windows EXE and isn't the Test Client Webservice need to exercise the Patient Registry service provider, rather it calls on some Test Adapter that doesn't exist in the samples.

This project is the same project found today under PatientRegister/Test. We later moved the file to a more sensible place. But seems like the Test Plan and Execution Guide was not updated.

I was reviewing the Test Plan and Execution guide and it specifies there's a project call the Patient Register Test Hardness C:\Program Files\Microsoft Connection Engine\Adapter Development\Deployment\PatientRegisterTestHarness.

I have download everything from HCE and installed most of it, but I can't find this adapter w/ database scripts. This has been stopping from doing any further testing?

Now I'm receiving this error again.
"Source and Destination Service Providers not in the same pool"

101, 102 and 117 are in the same pool (1).

Test application (Test.exe) that included with the patientregister project, I have the following in the app.config file;

And all the public/private keys do match.

I'm stumped, I find it hard to believe the anybody else ever had the patient register test application running.

I had to do allot configure it correctly and it still doesn't work.

I noticed there another service provider 118 being reference for the patientregisterWS, but I don't see any examples this adapter.

The Test.exe that comes with the PatientRegister only make a web-service call to the PatientRegisterWS.

Hey Gary,

Two things to look at here:

1) Make sure that PrPublicKey.xml matches PRPrivateKey.xml.
2) Make sure that the contents of PRPublicKey.xml matches the values for ServiceProviderRegister ID 117 on the ServiceProviderRegister database
3) Make sure that the contents of SPRPublicKey.xml matches the values for ServiceProviderRegister ID 101 on the ServiceProviderRegister database

Make sure that the following files can be read by the your ConnectionEngineAppPool user:

SPRPublicKey.xml
PRPublicKey.xml
PRPrivateKey.xml
PRMessageHandlers.xml

Hey Gary,

Sorry about the delay after our last talk, but I got sick.

This message usually happens is the two providers are not in the same Pool in ServiceProviderRegister. Within ServiceProviderRegister, There is a table called ServiceProviderPool. You must have a row there with your two providers and a pool (usually pool id 1).
