Service Provider and Message Types

My team is trying to design new services that would be plug into the HCE.
But the services being added are not patient neither practitioner related. One of the services will provide pharmacy information related, something like the name of medicine, brand etc...

We are also developing some of the components designed in the CHF. And the purpose it to plugin this services to the HCE.

Is it a good policy to plugin the new services, even though they are not patient related?

The new services should be implemented in order to use the message types already defined, or design new schemas and assign them to the created services?

Thanks,
Pedro Rafael

Hi Pedro,

If I understand your problem correctly, you're trying to create some kind of registry that would the authortive source of medicine information within your clinical domain. Is that correct?

Assuming that this is what you're looking for, I would design new schemas, and a new provider that would work in a similar way to the service provider or patient registry.

I don't see any problem in having such a service as a part of your clinical domain.

I hope this helps.

Cheers, Wagner.
